The audacity to exist.
As a female LGBTQ-owned business in a society that has historically been less than accepting, the Disruptive Ink Tattoo Studio seeks to actively break down barriers and disrupt the status quo. One tattoo at a time. Each tattoo, whether large or small, visible or hidden, pieces together to weave a story of humanity. Through the lines, colors, patterns, and art emerges a common thread of acceptance that connects us and speaks to the human sense of belonging,
Just as you are.

Below that is some of the history behind the genesis of the Disruptive Ink Tattoo Studio brand and the driving forces behind it.

Sandra Lin, Owner & Head Tattoo Artist
A rising soccer star with plans to attend and play for the University of North Carolina’s Tar Heels, Sandra’s dreams were shattered with a devastating knee injury her senior year. While recovering, she turned to art to heal. As the proverbial saying goes, when one door closes, another opens and Sandra realized she was meant to do art. She was accepted to the top five art schools in the country and decided to stay local and attend the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. A decision that began the journey of where she is today.
In her 15 years of being an artist and muralist, one of the art mediums that Sandra was drawn to was tattooing. She began apprenticing and specializing in black work, fine detail, trash polka, and watercolor tattoos. To date, Sandra has been professionally tattooing for five years and she works closely with her clients to take their concepts, interpret it artistically, and bring it to life. It is always goal #1 that clients leave with a piece that they truly love and that reflects them and where they are at any particular moment in their life’s journey.
In 2018 - Disruptive Ink Tattoo Studio opened its first space in a small shop off of Belleview. Then, the COVID-19 pandemic hit along with a statewide suspension of all tattooing operations. Sandra then began to draft a plan to create a space, not just for Sandra’s work, but one where multiple artists could come together to create.
This vision was realized in the new location off of 285 and Wadsworth in Lakewood, Colorado. The space currently has six tattoo artists, two piercers, and a Reiki Master.
